How to resize an image for LinkedIn

  1. Choose your image

    Upload or drop a JPG, PNG or WebP. The checker reads the original pixel dimensions, file type and size without uploading it.

  2. Pick the destination

    Choose a square, portrait or landscape post, a personal or company banner, a profile photo or a company logo. Custom dimensions are available too.

  3. Keep the right part

    Crop to fill removes the edges outside the preview. Drag or use the zoom and position sliders. Fit whole image keeps every edge and adds your chosen background.

  4. Download the result

    Choose JPG for a smaller photo or PNG for crisp text and graphics. The download has the exact pixel size shown. Its actual file size appears after export.

Good to know

Personal and company banners differ
The personal banner preset is 1584 × 396 pixels (4:1). The company banner is 1128 × 191 pixels, about 5.91:1. Use the right one before arranging text.
Post presets are starting points
Square posts export at 1200 × 1200, portraits at 1080 × 1350 and landscape posts at 1200 × 627. These are useful design sizes, not the only dimensions LinkedIn accepts.
A larger export cannot add detail
The checker warns when an export enlarges your original. Start with a larger image if faces or text look soft. Check important text on a phone before posting.
Profile photos display in a circle
The profile preset exports a 400 × 400 square. The circular guide shows which corners may disappear in the profile display; it is not included in the download.

What size should a LinkedIn post image be?

This tool offers 1200 × 1200 pixels for square posts, 1080 × 1350 for portrait posts and 1200 × 627 for landscape posts. Choose the shape that suits your content. LinkedIn can accept other dimensions and may resize or compress an image after upload.

What is the LinkedIn banner size?

The personal profile banner preset is 1584 × 396 pixels with a 4:1 ratio. The company page banner preset is 1128 × 191 pixels, about 5.91:1. They are different shapes, so changing presets can remove part of the image in crop mode.

How can I resize without cropping?

Choose Fit whole image. The tool scales the image proportionally so every edge stays visible and fills the remaining space with your background color. It never stretches the photo.

Can I check image file size before uploading to LinkedIn?

Yes. The checker shows the original file size, type and dimensions. After downloading, it also shows the exported file size. LinkedIn’s profile photo and personal background photo limit is 8 MB; if needed, choose JPG with a lower quality setting and download again.

Which file formats can I use?

You can open JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 40 MB and 40 million pixels. Export as JPG or PNG. Transparent areas are filled with your chosen background color. Custom output dimensions are limited to 4096 pixels per side and 16 million pixels total.

Are my images uploaded or saved?

No. Image decoding, previewing, cropping and exporting happen in your browser. No image is uploaded or saved by this tool. Closing the tab clears the image; download your result before leaving.
