A focused list he can manage himself
Before Extrovert, Mark estimates he commented on LinkedIn about once a month. Building the business and keeping up with his market competed for the same time.
At the time of the interview, Mark was the only person at Starter Stack AI using Extrovert. He kept his list small enough to handle himself. Adding more prospects, he said, would leave him with more engagement tasks than he could realistically get through.
So, yeah, 40 is a sweet spot. But like I say, high signal, high target is how we do it.
Mark DusseauFounder, Starter Stack AI · LinkedInWhat he pays attention to
Mark tracks customer posts about hiring, company updates and the work they are doing. He also pays attention to the conversations customers and active prospects join, to understand their interests and how they do business. For future outreach, he wants people to have seen his face and name before he messages them.
Social listening helps him find posts around the specific keywords his company tracks. Extrovert also surfaced a relevant post from an industry influencer. Mark engaged, connected with them and exchanged LinkedIn DMs. Mark still filters for relevance himself: a post can use the right language but come from outside his US market.
Customer posts also give him material for Starter Stack AI’s own marketing. He described watching for customers sharing deals funded using the company’s technology, which could become case-study material.
What Mark noticed
Mark checks who interacts with his Extrovert-assisted comments and later follows his profile. He credits those interactions with helping his following grow, but did not give a follower count or growth rate.
I think extrovert has helped significantly with follower growth.
Mark DusseauFounder, Starter Stack AI · LinkedInHe also gets a better view of what existing customers are working on and prioritizing, which gives him ideas for how to support them. He did not report a closed expansion deal or revenue attributable to Extrovert.
